National Overview

In partnership with the states and territories, the Australian Government has entered into National Partnerships in the key areas of addressing disadvantage, supporting teachers and school leaders, and improving literacy and numeracy. These reforms are particularly focused on supporting those students that are most disadvantaged, including Indigenous students.

States and territories have developed implementation plans and bilateral agreements outlining the reforms being introduced under the Smarter Schools National Partnerships.
